Merchants & Planters has served Central Mississippi for over a century, earning trust as a locally owned, hometown institution. The goal was to carry that legacy into a modern site without losing the warmth of banking where people know your name.
The previous site was a boxed, generic portal stacked with dated banking graphics. The redesign replaces it with a clean, modern layout that still feels personal and relational, like an extension of the community it serves.
The homepage opens with a custom collage that blends real images of Raymond, Mississippi with everyday banking moments. Muted sepia tones give it a warm and cohesive look.
These design choices evoke a sense of history and familiarity, subtly referencing the bank’s 1906 origins while reinforcing its deep roots in the local community and setting Merchants & Planters apart from larger, impersonal institutions.
A hand-drawn icon set gives the site a consistent, approachable visual language. It softens rigid banking content and points customers toward the things they came to do.
From phone to desktop, the layout adapts seamlessly across devices. Key actions like account access, loan information, and contact options remain front and center, so users can find what they need quickly with minimal friction.
